Prior to training as a Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist, I first studied Fine Art before returning to complete a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology.
Throughout my career I have worked in primary and secondary mental health services in the NHS, charitable organisations and within healthcare services as part of specialist weight loss surgery, oncology, and cosmetic and aesthetic services. Alongside working in private practice I am also an Assistant Professor in Counselling Psychology and support multi-disciplinary teams within both NHS and private hospitals in Kent where I provide psychological support for individuals dealing with major life transitions following diagnosis or surgery.
I have a particular interest in how physical change affects how we feel about ourselves. Whether it be a physical part of yourself that you don’t like or a physical change brought about by illness or surgery (e.g. mastectomy, pregnancy, ageing, weight loss etc.). I work with individuals to overcome the limits and challenges that prevent them from living their lives fully and authentically.
